Business Analyst - eCommerce

Our client is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to support a Project Manager in the procurement and implementation of a new eCommerce web platform. This is a key role in the early phase of the project, focused on defining business requirements, preparing for a formal Request for Proposal (RFP), and supporting vendor evaluation.

You must be able to work 2 days per week in Palmerston North.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the PM and stakeholders to gather, define, and document business and technical requirements for the new eCommerce platform.
• Lead workshops and interviews to capture current-state processes and future-state needs.
• Prepare documentation required for the RFP process, including functional and non-functional requirements, use cases, and evaluation criteria.
• Support the vendor selection process by helping evaluate proposals and participating in demos and Q&A sessions.
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and feasible.
• Maintain traceability of requirements through the RFP and selection stages.
• Assist with high-level solution design and mapping to business needs.

Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst on digital/web or eCommerce projects.
• Experience working through RFP or vendor selection processes.
• Comfortable liaising with both business and technical stakeholders.
• Strong documentation skills – requirements specs, user stories, process flows, etc.
• Familiarity with web technologies and eCommerce platforms.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
