ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for qualified HVAC Service Technicians with a current EWRB Electrical Service Technician (EST) Licence to join our Auckland team.
We currently have an immediate start available for a technician to be based on one of our key client sites in Glenbrook, and we also have opportunities based in Penrose.
This is a service-based role, focused on preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and urgent callouts across commercial HVAC equipment, including VRV/VRF systems, chillers, and heat pumps. You’ll also have the opportunity to support the team with occasional project and installation work, including upgrades and commissioning.
Your day-to-day will involve:- Responding to service requests, breakdowns, and urgent callouts within KPI timeframes
- Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on commercial HVAC systems
- Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical and electrical faults efficiently
- Managing both the electrical and mechanical aspects of HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Supporting occasional project works, including installations, upgrades, and commissioning of equipment
- Refurbishing refrigeration systems and replacing faulty components as required
- Ensuring all work meets quality, Health & Safety standards, always following RCR safety procedures
- Maintaining accurate electronic job records and service reporting through Simpro, with attention to detail
- Delivering exceptional customer service and representing RCR with professionalism
- Building strong, trusted client relationships through responsive, solutions-focused support
You’ll work both independently and as part of a team, managing your workload and priorities while contributing to the after-hours roster as part of a skilled, supportive HVAC crew.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR- NZQA Level 4 trade qualification in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (or equivalent industry experience)
- Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience in commercial HVAC servicing, repairs, and maintenance
- Current EWRB registration and practising licence as an Electrical Service Technician (EST)
- Full Class 1 Driver Licence
- Refrigerant Fillers Licence (A1/A2L)
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability across mechanical and electrical systems
- A proactive, reliable attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to participate in the after-hours / on-call rotation
