HVAC Service Technician

The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing commercial and industrial Heating, Ventilation, Airconditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems across various customer sites. The role requires effective troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, system installations, and modifications to ensure efficient operation, customer satisfaction, and adherence to safety standards.

Job requirements as per below:

• Perform planned and preventative maintenance and repairs on commercial HVAC/R systems.
• Be on the call-out roster and attend callouts in a timely manner as required.
• Complete service and maintenance tasks to a high standard and within the assigned timeframe
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair system faults and breakdown.
• Install new equipment and modify HVAC/R systems according to customers requirement/specifications.
• Safely handle the removal and disposal of redundant equipment and refrigerant.
• Repair mechanical and electronic components for continuous system operations.
• Respond efficiently to breakdowns, performing physical tasks safely (e.g., lifting, bending, accessing roofs

via ladders, working at heights).

• Complete accurate paperwork including service reports, van stock sheets, transfer sheets, commissioning

• Record detailed job information, materials, costs, and customer orders clearly and legibly.
• Submit accurate weekly timesheets.

• Comply with all regulations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and company-specific safety

• Conduct comprehensive safety audits (Take 5), safety plans, and job safety analyses (JSAs).
• Maintain current Site Safe certification and manage renewals proactively.
• Always use appropriate PPE and obtain necessary permits (Roof Access, Hot Work).
• Champion sustainable practices in daily operations.

• Maintain required NZ certifications or equivalent.

• Minimum 3 years' experience in HVAC/R servicing and maintenance.
• Refrigeration/Air Conditioning or HVAC trade certification
• Refrigerant Fillers license (advantageous).
• Working at heights licence (advantageous).
• Acceptable English communication skills, both written and spoken.
