As Team Leader, Acquisition and Legal Deposit, you'll oversee the acquisition of published material and the delivery of the Library's legal deposit responsibilities, ensuring that the documentary heritage of Aotearoa is collected, described, and preserved for users now and in the future.In this role, you'll lead a team of librarians to deliver on national collecting strategies, develop and maintain strong relationships with publishers and creators, and provide expert guidance on legal deposit and acquisitions.
You'll also work closely with curators, preservation teams and metadata specialists to ensure high-quality, efficient collection workflows across both physical and digital formats.What we're looking forWe're keen to hear from experienced professionals with:A strong background in library collection development and acquisitionsProven leadership experience, including managing teams of technical or specialist staffA clear understanding of legal deposit legislation and its applicationFamiliarity with collection budgeting, procurement, licensing and documentation practicesExperience building relationships with the publishing sector, GLAM institutions or content creatorsStrong project management skills and the ability to manage risk and deliver on timeAn awareness of the impact of Te Tiriti o Waitangi on collecting practice and a commitment to supporting mātauranga MāoriAn interest in the evolving world of digital publishing and its implications for collectingYou'll be someone who combines a love of collections with a clear sense of purpose and the ability to lead through change.We are an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusion.
