About the Role

Salary range: $144,000 - $162,000.

As the Operations Manager, Registered Medical Officer (RMO) Unit, you will provide leadership and management to the teams located across the Capital Coast and Hutt Valley hospital sites. This middle management role partners with the Clinical Leader to translate strategy into plans that deliver the workforce requirements for RMOs.

The Operations Manager:

  • Influences, builds and refreshes systems, services or interventions that achieve the vision of the Group.
  • Translates strategy into operational plans that improve the Capital Coast and Hutt Valley Provider Services capability and increase capacity to deliver agreed services.
  • Balances meeting day-to-day operational challenges while keeping sight of directorate objectives and implementing system and process changes to provide solutions.

About the Team/Service Location

The RMO Unit facilitates linkages between and provides support for all those involved in RMO management functions within Provider Services and across the sub-region.

The RMO Unit is responsible for providing:

  • Support for all those involved in RMO management functions across the sub regional districts, ensuring consistency of management practices
  • Employment agreement compliance, and administration of employment issues relating to RMOs
  • A strategic overview of and input to the RMO workforce, Multi-Employer Collective Agreement (MECA) and management issues.
  • Open communication between clinical and operational management, NZ Resident Doctor's Association (NZRDA), Specialty Trainees of NZ (STONZ) and RMOs.

You will be managing a diverse and dynamic team made up of RMO Recruitment Advisors and Coordinators. We encourage a collaborative workplace culture and are committed to ensuring all our staff succeed in their roles.

About you

You will have experience managing an administrative team and dealing with the complexities of a large, diverse organisation. A background working in the New Zealand hospital system is desirable. Other skills and experience we are looking for include:

  • Comfortable navigating conflict, challenges and managing change
  • Roster Management
  • Industrial relations experience
  • Understanding and implementation of collective employment agreements
  • Relevant business qualification or equivalent experience
