Working Site Manager / Working Foreman

This is a hands-on, tools-on leadership position. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of site while leading crews and subcontractors to deliver safe, tidy, and high-quality builds.
You’ll work closely with our Project Managers and Directors and be trusted to manage programme, quality, and trade coordination with a high level of autonomy.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all on-site activities to deliver projects on time and to specification
- Hands-on involvement where required (working foreman style)
- Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to maintain programme momentum
- Ensure quality standards are met at every stage of the build
- Maintain a safe worksite through daily checks, toolbox talks, site inductions, and compliance
- Read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction schedules
- Organise inspections and liaise with consultants and council as required
- Keep sites clean, professional, and well-presented
- Provide regular progress updates and clear communication to management
- Proven experience as a Working Site Manager, Site Foreman, or Senior Site Supervisor
- Strong background in new residential construction
- Comfortable leading subcontractors, tradies, and small crews
- Confident with site sequencing, programme control, and problem-solving
- Practical, calm, and straight-up communication style
- High attention to detail and pride in quality finishes
- Solid knowledge of NZ building practices and compliance requirements
- Full NZ driver’s licence
- Site Safe preferred (or willing to obtain)
- Carpentry trade qualification highly valued
- LBP highly valued
