Restaurant Manager

We are currently seeking one permanent Restaurant Manager to join our busy team. We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours a week. The successful applicant must be available six days a week to work a split shift of approximately 3 hours in the morning and up to 6 hours in the evening on their rostered days.

Morning shifts generally start around 11:30am and evening shifts from 4:30pm. The successful candidate must be available to work weekends and public holidays.

Remuneration ranges from $28- $30 per hour, depending on experience.

The successful candidate must have three years of relevant experience supervising a hospitality establishment.

The key responsibilities of the Restaurant Manager are:

  • Ensuring the restaurant is adequately manned for optimum delivery of service.
  • Ensuring the stock levels are maintained to prevent running out of items in our seven day operations.
  • Responsible for purchasing and vetting of orders, delivers and stock levels.
  • Undertake menu planning, setting specials and liaising with the chefs.
  • Undertakes setting the prices based on market research from competitors.
  • Develops coordinated working relationship with existing and new suppliers and negotiates best price deals for the business.
  • Identify new business opportunities and implement strategies to capitalize on any potential opportunities.
  • Development and implementation of the marketing plan.
  • Maintain all the business documentation (such as rosters, revenue reconciliation) using the latest ICT technology and develop efficiencies in the business.
  • Monitor trends/events and implement measures based on events, weather, historical sales, location and local marketing.
  • Provide regular financial analysis of the restaurant business with a view to maximising profitability and ensuring efficiency of staff and resources.
  • Ensure budgets are on track based on historical data, productivity and labour ratios.
  • Ensure the training of staff, responsible for selection and interview, hiring and supervision of staff to ensure our standards are met.
  • Organises functions like birthday parties and anniversary dinners in liaison with customers.
  • “Customer feedback is key to success”. Deals with customer feedback and ensures that complaints are handled and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring the restaurant meets the health regulations and is clean to the satisfaction of customers
  • Takes reservations for dining in, greets customers and assists in taking orders
