About the role
Through a period of expansion, a full-time opportunity has arisen for a Health and Safety Business Partner to support the owner and founder in this cornerstone area of the business.
This role will be client facing and will see the successful applicant become the go-to expert for operational business leaders and their workforce. The role is hands on and will involve coaching and delivering technical support in a variety of Health and Safety activities such as:- Creation, implementation, and support of ISO 45001, 9001, and 14001 management systems
- Conducting system, process, and on-site audits, inspections, and gap analysis
- Preparation of HSEQ gap analysis reports
- Conduct ICAM investigations for serious incidents and near misses
- Creation and submission of Traffic Management Plans (TMP)
- Conducting Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) inspections and audits
- Support for Health and Safety tendering processes
- Support for Health and Safety representatives and committees
- Pre-qualification scheme assistance to ensure high scores and attractiveness to potential clients.
- Health and Safety System development
- System and Process Maintenance.
Flexible work arrangements are available and whilst the preferred option is for a full-time position, part time hours may be considered for the right candidate.
About you
This role will need a blend of technical (professional) expertise, combined with a very personable approach and exceptional communication and relationship building skills. The owner requires an industry professional whom they can trust with key clients, and who has the ability to grow with the business.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:- A positive, friendly, and honest demeanour
- An efficient work rate
- Minimum five years' experience in Health & Safety (quality and environmental experience would be a bonus)
- Holds a relevant health and safety qualification, such as Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or NEBOSH
- The willingness and ability to develop, maintain and be responsible for existing and new client relationships
- The ability to communicate and influence leaders at all levels, employees and other key stakeholders to ensure client expectations are met or surpassed.
- The ability to use sound health and safety expertise to generate, evaluate and present information to clients
- Analyse a variety of information to draw accurate conclusions
- Knowledge of the New Zealand Health and Safety Legislation and Regulations
- Solid understanding and experience leading risk management processes
- Familiar with high-risk industries – Construction (Civil and Vertical), Agricultural, Manufacturing.
- Attractive remuneration is negotiable based on skills and experience, including the provision of a vehicle to travel to and from site.
Pre-employment Tests
JPL may require any successful candidate to complete a Pre-employment Medical which includes a Drug and Alcohol Test, Pre-Employment Ministry of Justice Check, a TORO check and a Pre-employment ACC Check.
EligibilityLegal entitlement to work in New Zealand is a pre-requisite for the role.
