Yard Foreman - Marine Haulout & Hardstand Facility

About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, the Yard Foreman plays a key role in overseeing yard operations, coordinating boat movements, maintaining equipment and leading the Boatyard team. The position requires hands-on work indoors and outdoors, strong communication skills and a commitment to high safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:Help co-ordinate boatyard and travel-lift operations schedules (alongside office manager), including:
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional manner when dealing with boat owners to ensure a smooth haul-out experience.
- Booking boatyard services
- Planning boatyard layout and launching dates
- Ensuring efficient workflow and profitable yard utilization
Lead the Boatyard team with a positive, professional approach.
Operate and maintain machinery, tools and plant equipment.Monitor yard access, deliveries and visitor movements.
Co-ordinating compliance with Health and SafetyUphold company policies and promote safe working practices.
Selection Criteria: Ability to identify operational issues and communicate potential solutions to the Manager.
Customer RelationsDemonstrate exceptional record keeping.
Previous experience in machine operation within the industry an advantageDemonstrated ability to perform physical/manual labour tasks in a safe manner.
Good communication, literacy and numeracy skills.
Ability to operate, maintain and work safely with hand tools, small plant and equipment.
Current appropriate driver’s licences - Class 1 & Forklift
Desirable:- Class 2 & 4 drivers’ licence
- Formal leadership & supervision training
- Dogman, rigger, mobile crane or trave lift license
