Our cafe, located in the heart of Waiuku City, offers a welcoming dining experience with a wide range of Kiwi-inspired dishes and desserts. We are currently looking to hire Chef and Baker.

Position: Chef X1
Pay Rate: $25 per hour.
Hours: 30-40 Hours per week

Location: Waiuku, Auckland

Key Duties:
  • Prepare authentic Indian curries, Tandoori dishes, and all other menu items.
  • Plan menus that meet quality standards for Indian cuisine.
  • Order stock, manage inventory, and check goods upon arrival.
  • Maintain high hygiene standards and keep the kitchen clean and tidy.
  • Ensure all dishes meet quality expectations through skilled cooking and final checks before serving.
  • Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment to ensure proper working condition.
  • Train kitchen staff when needed and support their development.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all staff members.
  • Carry out additional kitchen duties as required.
Job Requirements:
  • must have an experience of 2 years or relevant qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian curries, Tandoori dishes, and traditional cooking methods.
  • Ability to plan and prepare menus to high quality standards.
  • Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to manage stock, ordering, and inventory.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high kitchen standards.

  • Follow recipes and ensure consistent quality and taste.
  • Measure, mix, and prepare doughs, batters, and fillings.
  • Decorate cakes and pastries as required.
  • Manage baking schedules to ensure fresh products throughout the day.
  • Monitor ovens and baking equipment for proper operation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the baking area.
  • Check and manage stock levels for baking ingredients.
  • Ensure all baked goods meet quality and presentation standards.
  • Assist with other kitchen or café duties when needed.
Job Requirements:
  • Must have an experience of 2 years as a baker.
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, dough preparation, and pastry making.
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistent product quality.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Good time-management skills to handle baking schedules.
  • Ability to work early mornings and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail in preparation, baking, and presentation.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of using baking equipment and tools.
