Mō te tūnga | About the roleAuckland Region Women's Corrections Facility:
  • Our psychological service team model aligns with and integrates into the initiatives currently underway at the site, including the Te Mana Wāhine pathway for women and the women's strategy E rere ana ki te pae hou, ensuring we meet the psychological needs of the women housed there and the aspirations of Hōkai Rangi.
Within this service there will be the opportunity to complete individual assessment and treatment and to co
  • facilitate rehabilitation programmes that have been designed within a braided river (He Awa Whiria) approach
  • that is Te Ao Māori and Mātauranga Māori sit alongside more Western psychological approaches to rehabilitation.

The service operates from a therapeutic perspective, providing psychological advice, support, and intervention, as appropriate.

We are looking for passionate and dedicated psychologists to form part of this multi-disciplinary team, which includes a Kaupapa Māori Practitioner and a Reintegration Co-Ordinator.
There is a strong focus on bicultural practice and Mātauranga Māori.
As such, the successful applicants will be passionate and enthusiastic about working in this space.
An existing understanding of Te Ao Māori and tikanga would be an advantage.

We may also offer flexible and/or part-time options for working hours.
