We’re looking for a superstar Event Manager to deliver the 2026 Whangarei Pride Festival.

The Whangarei Pride Festival Event Manager will be the main contact point and coordinator of the month-long Pride Festival supporting an active community of volunteers to realise their visions.
The role includes the following tasks:- Act as the main point of contact for the Pride Festival, communicating with stakeholders, rainbow community members and the general public.
- Create content and promote Pride Festival events on social media and other advertising platforms.
- Promote a vibrant and positive image of the Whangarei Pride Festival and Whangarei PROUD as an organisation.
- Recruit and coordinate volunteers to support events running smoothly
- Ensure health and safety for everyone is covered at Pride events.
- Collect event data and create funding reports.
- The contract is for $9,000, equivalent to 180 hours at $50 per hour. This is an average of 10 hours per week for 18 weeks, but hours will vary based on the needs of the events and be busiest across Pride Festival in March.
- There is a $250 office expense allowance for internet, phone, travel etc.
- The contract is with Whangarei PROUD Trust who will support you with budget management and Pride Parade / Gayla event operations.
- The Event Manager is able to work from home or from Pride HQ in central Whangarei or other event locations or as arranged.
