We are seeking a passionate and reliable Front of House Team Leader to manage and guide our team of volunteers during our busy weekend hours. The Front of House Team Leader will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient service to customers, overseeing volunteers, and maintaining the welcoming and positive atmosphere that defines our cafe.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with people and has strong leadership skills.
Out side of service hours you will be working with the coordinator to do the background work, securing kai, creating rosters and jobs for volunteers, staff training, planning and creating systems for smooth running of all café business.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead, motivate, and support a team of volunteer workers to ensure they perform tasks efficiently and with care.
- Oversee the smooth running of front-of-house operations, including customer service, seating arrangements, and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
- Manage customer interactions with warmth and professionalism, addressing any questions or concerns.
- Supervise and coordinate volunteer tasks to ensure each shift is well-managed, and everyone is working collaboratively.
- Monitor the cafe’s daily operations, including inventory and supplies, ensuring everything is stocked and ready for service.
- Help maintain a positive, friendly, and team-oriented work environment where volunteers feel supported and valued.
- Report any issues or concerns to the Cafe Manager, ensuring any problems are addressed swiftly and efficiently.
- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role is preferred, but not essential.
- Computer skills to use outlook, excel and Microsoft word.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team of volunteers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with customers and volunteers from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- A genuine passion for creating a positive and inclusive community space.
- Available to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 3:00 PM – 8:30 PM non-negotiable
