Road Construction Workers – Multiple Roles Across Canterbury
We’re on the lookout for reliable and experienced road construction crew members to support a number of ongoing maintenance projects throughout Christchurch and the wider Canterbury region. This is a great opportunity to work with well-established contractors on long-term assignments.
About the Role
You’ll be part of a hardworking team delivering road surfacing and maintenance across local and regional sites. Work may involve:
- General road construction and surfacing duties
- Spotting, shovelling, and plate compaction
- Working with chip sealing and asphalt
- Operating machinery (rollers, loaders, etc.)
Skills & Experience
We’re looking for people with:
- Previous experience in road construction or maintenance
- Minimum of Class 2 licence (Class 4 or 5 and WTR highly preferred)
- Strong reliability and work ethic
- Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions
- Commitment to health & safety on site
- Competitive hourly pay: $25–$34/hour (depending on experience and endorsements)
- Consistent work with reputable civil contractors
- Opportunities for temp to perm for the right candidates
- Local projects – home every night
