Excavator Operator – Surfacing (Canterbury)

We're looking for experienced Excavator Operators to join our Christchurch-based Surfacing team. This is a great opportunity to be part of projects that help shape the local community across the wider South Island.
This is a fulltime role, normally working approximately 50 hours a week and sometimes required to work up to 60 hours. Night work may be required upon occasion as will travel across the motu.
What you'll be doing- Operating excavators safely and efficiently on civil construction sites
- Carrying out deep excavations for foundations, services, and structures
- Working on drainage installation (stormwater, wastewater, and other services)
- Assisting with trenching, backfilling, and site preparation
- Supporting the team to deliver earthworks and pavement projects on time, to spec, and safely
- 3 Years proven experience operating excavators in heavy civil construction
- Strong skills in deep excavation
- Competency with trench shoring, trench safety, and working around live services
- A current WTR endorsement (Class 2 or higher licence preferred)
- Commitment to health & safety and working as part of a team
