Fitter/Turner Job Shop machinist - Leadership Role
We are still looking for the right people to fill two new roles at We Can Precision Engineering
Job Shop Fitter Turner/ Machinist – Fulltime Leadership Role Providing Support to the Job Shop Team Captain & a Job Shop Fitter Turner/ Machinist – Part Time Role in the same team but with negotiable days and hours.
For over fifty years, We Can Precision Engineering has built a reputation as a problem-solving designer and manufacturer of precision components, critical engineering spares and complex engineering parts and assemblies.
We are now seeking the services of two qualified and experienced manual machinists to join the busy Job Shop side of our business. One to provide leadership support to our Job Shop Team Captain and one to provide part-time support to the same team, with hours that can be negotiated to suit.
To be successful in both these positions you must have:- A high level of machining competency on a large range of manual equipment including manual lathes, milling machines, grinding machines, drilling machines, saws, and broaching. CNC experience is useful, but not essential.
- Practical experience being able to offer robust solutions to our diverse range of customers, especially under the pressure of breakdowns and short lead times.
- A ‘we can’ attitude to work.
- Relevant trade qualifications as fitter & turner or mechanical engineer, and the desire and patience to help guide our training apprentices in our Job Shop area.
- Desire to take the step from an experienced machinist into a supported leadership and mentoring role.
- Ability to liaise with customers when required.
- Ability to assign work within the team and lead when required.
- Proven ability to prioritise workload and work in a structured manner.
- General computer literacy and ability to learn our ERP system.
- CAD experience is desirable, but not essential.
Applicants must be in New Zealand and have a current NZ Work Visa or Residency. We will not be taking on anyone outside this criteria.
We offer interesting and varied work, in a leading engineering business with a great team-work environment in our well-equipped premises in gorgeous Hawke’s Bay (for more about the Bay lifestyle, go to www.hawkesbaynz.com)
