COURIER DRIVER – New Plymouth
Employer: Sachin WithanaEmployment Type: Permanent & Full-Time (Minimum guaranteed 30 hours/week)
Pay: $26.00 per hour – in line with market rates for courier drivers in New Plymouth
Position Overview:I am seeking a reliable and motivated Courier Driver to join the team in New Plymouth. This is a permanent, ongoing role suited to someone who enjoys being on the road, can work independently, and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:- Sort, load, unload, pick up, and deliver parcels across two suburbs in New Plymouth.
- Ensuring goods are stored and transported in conditions that will maintain their quality.
- Scan freight and obtain delivery signatures in line with company policies.
- Maintain a professional standard of customer service during all deliveries.
- Ensure vehicle safety, cleanliness, and basic maintenance as part of daily responsibilities
- Complete all scheduled daily tasks efficiently and professionally.
- A current NZ Class 1 Full Driver License, or an equivalent overseas license with the ability to obtain a Class 1 license in New Zealand within 3 months of starting.
- Physically capable of lifting and moving freight up to 25kg, with regular bending and twisting required.
- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug testing.
- Ministry of Justice background check.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work varying hours Monday to Friday, with availability for weekends and public holidays when required.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily tasks without supervision.
- Two recent, positive references.
- Dangerous Goods (DG) license, or willingness to obtain it within 3 months of employment.
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
