Job Description
AFFCO is a leading player in New Zealand's meat industry, supplying quality products to the world. We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Industrial Electrician to join our maintenance team at our Wairoa plant.
In this pivotal role, you will be the backbone of our daily operations, ensuring our high-tech processing machinery and site infrastructure operate at peak performance to minimize downtime.
What you'll be doing:- Fault Finding & Repair: Rapidly diagnosing and repairing faults on processing machinery, conveyors, packaging lines, and refrigeration systems.
- Preventative Maintenance: executing scheduled maintenance to prevent breakdowns before they happen.
- PLC & Automation: Working with PLCs, VSDs, and automated control systems to optimize plant efficiency.
- Installations: Assisting with the installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment.
- Safety First: adhering strictly to Health & Safety protocols and electrical standards.
Qualifications
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the following key requirements for the role:- A proactive approach that ensures the production departments experience minimal down time due to maintenance requirements,
- Possess strong time management skill in order to prioritise projects when required,
- A proactive approach to daily routine with strong organisational skills,
- A strong commitment to upholding health and safety standards,
- Strong problem-solving skills,
- Appropriate qualifications (NZQF Level 4 or recognised equivalent).
- Hold a current electrical practising licence either full registration or limited license (see below).
- Knowledge of Industrial communication protocols, such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus RTU and TCP/IP.
- PLC / HMI / programming experience across various platforms (i.e. Allen Bradley, Schneider).
- Ignition SCADA programming experience.
