About the Role

As a Registered Nurse working in the Wellington Blood Cancer Centre (WBCC), you will provide specialised nursing care and treatments to cancer patients, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and blood transfusions. You will manage symptoms, provide emotional support to patients and their whanau, and work closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop tailored care plans to ensure optimal treatment outcomes.

About the Team

The Wellington Blood Cancer Centre (WBCC) incorporates the specialties of Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Clinical Haematology into an integrated regional and supra-regional cancer service for both inpatients and outpatients. Services provided in WBCC include specialist consultation and treatment for referred Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Haematology patients either in Wellington or outreach clinic

The WBCC team is a hardworking, friendly and supportive team who are passionate about providing a high level of care to patients accessing cancer services.

About you - the ideal candidate would have:

  • Current Annual Practicing Certificate as a Registered Nurse with the NZ Nursing Council.
  • Previous experience in cancer nursing position is advantageous
  • On the PDRP, or willing to work towards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • Team player and have excellent decision making skills.
  • Have a passion about making a difference in the lives of those living with cancer and blood disorders.
