Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is the country's largest employer, delivering universal public healthcare to New Zealanders.We provide essential hospital, specialist, and community health services across 80+ locations — from large urban centres to rural towns and remote communities.Our goal is to improve health outcomes for all New Zealanders by delivering equitable, accessible and innovative care.About the RoleAs Project Support Manager for the Central Region, you will play a pivotal role in supporting business improvement, capability development, and regional performance across the Infrastructure and Investment Group (IIG).You will lead the project support function for the region, supporting business and performance planning, coordinating improvmenet initiatives, tracking benefits and outcomes, and strengthening project and programme delivery capability.
You will also support workforce planning, professional development, induction processes, and succession planning to ensure the region has the capability and capacity to meet current and future delivery demands.You will apply structure change management approaches to support teams through operational and project-related change.You'll work closely with delivery teams, regional leaders, and key stakeholders to identify opportunities, streamline systems, strengthen project capability, and support successful delivery of operational and strategic priorities.This role is central to ensuring our region continues to deliver safe, effective and equitable health services and that our people are supported, skilled, and set up for success.This role reports to the Regional Group Manager Delivery.About the Team/Service/ LocationThe IIG Central team are focused on delivering high impact infrastructure investments that support the transformation of New Zealand's health system within region and with alignment across the motu.You will lead the project support function within this team, working closely with Project and Programme Coordinators and the Reigonal Group Manager Delivery.Giving support, oversight and assurance across projects and programmes, the team understand that safe, fit for purpose health facilities, sites and equipment are essential for a well-functioning health system that improves the health of all New Zealanders.About youYou're a proactive, people-centred leader who thrives in dynamic and complex environments and is committed to developing others.
