Auckland - Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager
This well-established quality main contractor have been responsible for some iconic projects for many decades. While they are of good size, they retain more family centred values, are nimble and can move quick to make decisions. They continue to grow, they have secure clients generating repeat work with a full work order book for the next two years selectively taking on any additional projects.
Reporting into the current Commercial Manager, you would be a Lead QS taking financial responsibility for projects between $2M - $30M and as well look to take over progressively commercial management responsibilities
The role will cover:
- Tender estimates and review and letting contracts
- Meeting with sub-contractors
- Project protocol set up
- Cost management and monitoring of projects
- Variation management
- Bid management
- Sub contractor negotiations and management
- Final reporting
- Project Management of smaller jobs
- Project reviews
- Mentoring and supporting Intermediate or junior QS’s
- Being a client facing QS representing clients
As an applicant, you have commercial construction QS experience of at least 10+ years from a main contractor across a range of projects $2M - $30M. You would been the sole QS on projects.
Your cost management skills and commercial acumen are excellent with proven results in increasing profitability on projects. You have a strong understanding of NZS3910 and SA2017 subcontracts. As well you have strong experience with systems including Procore, Jobpac, Costx, ProcurePro.
You work well within a team environment and thrive on the pressure that construction projects bring. You are tertiary qualified with a quantity surveying major ideally.
The role has a great opportunity to move towards a Commercial Manager role within the next year due to future internal movements, so possessing drive and natural communication flair would be a given.
Remuneration package: $180K - $200K + Benefits
