  • Full Time Office of Constable / Police Employee Nationally Advertised Vacancy JR 5278695 Mō te tūnga | About the role The Bay of Plenty District Intelligence Unit supports Police leaders and officers to prevent crime and harm through exceptional policing.

Intelligence is used to inform deployment of resources, understand the criminal environment and crime problems, and facilitate evidence-based action and prevention.

As an Intelligence Supervisor you will lead a team of intelligence professionals and oversee the development and delivery of Intelligence products to support tactical and operational decision-making.
Your team provides insight into the nature of crime and harm by identifying trends, and forecasting future threats, risks, and opportunities.
District Intelligence Units operate in a dynamic environment providing support to frontline policing including operations, criminal investigations, and offender management.
You will engage proactively with a range of workgroups and decision-makers to understand requirements and work closely with members of the Intelligence Leadership Team to ensure close connectivity and effective service delivery.
You will also manage your own projects and workstreams to support embedding our National Intelligence Operating Model and align our processes and outputs with refreshed District priorities.
This position would suit an experienced intelligence professional wanting to work in a dynamic operational environment and support the development of intelligence capability across the team.
The position would also suit someone with experience in using intelligence in decision-making or who has been involved in intelligence collaboration.
While intelligence experience is preferred, it is not a requirement for an applicant with the right people skills.
You will be well supported by experienced technical experts across the team and will have opportunity to build your understanding and service delivery of NZ Police Intelligence to support policing outcomes for the District.
