Reliability Technician Team Leader
Plant Reliability Engineering Limited (Prelim) provides clients with a range of reliability engineering services which includes plant lubrication, oil analysis, vibration analysis, infrared, ultrasonics and filtration.
We have a role for a Reliability Technician Team Supervisor at our Oji Fibre Solutions client site at Kawerau. We require a person who can assist and direct our lubrication and VA reliability team in their operation and at the same time provide a strong interface with our client’s safety, maintenance engineering and business functions.
This role has a strong reliability focus to assist Prelim proactively identify plant faults to prevent reactive maintenance interventions, increase equipment reliability and help identify developing equipment failures.
This is achieved by following planned maintenance procedures and RCM driven continuous improvement activities. Prelim’s execution of these procedure and activities is managed through CMMS software and handheld technology.
We are after an enthusiastic person with a mechanical engineering background and manufacturing experience who has managed maintenance or engineering teams.
Skills:- Appropriate Tertiary trade qualification with pulp & paper industry experience
- Vibration analysis experience and training to minimum CATII
- A solid understanding and experience of NDT methods
- Experience in laser alignment and balancing
- Understanding of lubrication, oil analysis to MLA1 level and Infrared Thermography to Level 2
- An understanding of Motion Amplification and RDI Technologies
- Experience in managing process improvement projects
- Has undertaken asset failure analysis and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Coordinate services within client safety, maintenance and business teams
- Proficient in the use of MS Office programs including (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) an advantage
- Strong commitment to, and proven record in health and safety
- Knowledge of safe systems of work such as JSA’s, SOP’s & permit to work processes
- Demonstrable problem solving skills and a high level of initiative
- Results focused
- Effective communicator & team player with a sense of humour
A background in plant maintenance will be an asset in this position with strong communication skills and ability to engage with other managers and technical teams.
We are looking for a person who has a minimum of 2 years in a pulp and paper industry Condition Monitoring team and has worked with current CSI data collectors and AMS software.
Proven experience working in an industrial environment, ideally with some exposure to reliability centred maintenance (RCM) and process improvement initiatives.
You need to be an effective leader and have the desire to see improvements throughout - even when others can't see the need or reason. Applicants must be able to show initiative, be self-starters and able to manage his / her time.Ideally this role is based in the Bay of Plenty region such as Whakatane or Kawerau which provides a great combination of lifestyle, flexible working conditions, further learning opportunities, new technologies and a very supportive team environment.
This is a salaried role for 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with a 7:30am start. The annual salary range is between $100 to $115 k and there may be a requirement for occasional paid overtime for plant shuts days and annual weeklong shuts twice yearly.
