Are you an experienced leader ready to take on a pivotal role in shaping healthcare services? Christchurch Hospital is seeking a dynamic and driven Service Manager to join our team.
As a Service Manager, you will be responsible for the operational management of designated healthcare services, working closely with clinical and operational leaders to ensure high-quality patient care and service excellence. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a passion for continuous improvement in healthcare delivery.
We are open to candidates from a range of professional backgrounds and encourage applications from leaders with Allied Health, nursing, clinical, operational, or broader public sector experience.

About the role- Lead and support service teams to deliver exceptional patient care.
- Oversee operational and strategic planning to drive efficiency.
- Manage budgets, business planning, and financial performance.
- Ensure service quality, risk management, and compliance with healthcare standards.
- Develop and implement service improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clinical leaders and healthcare providers.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call management roster.
- A tertiary qualification in healthcare, business management, or a related field (or equivalent leadership experience).
- At least 5 years' experience in a management or leadership role, ideally within healthcare or a complex service environment.
- Experience working within Allied Health or multidisciplinary clinical services, or the ability to demonstrate strong understanding of how these services operate within a hospital setting.
- Strong business and financial acumen, including budgeting, service planning, and performance management.
- Proven ability to lead and influence across professional groups, building trusted relationships with clinical and operational leaders.
- A commitment to cultural responsiveness and achieving equitable health outcomes for all, including Maori communities.
