Woodlands Estate Operations Manager
Te Kaunihera aa Takiwaa o Waikato (Waikato District Council) serves the Waikato District which covers more than 400,000 hectares (418.893ha). It borders Hamilton City from the north, east and west. There are 2,422 kilometres of roads which you can travel throughout the district.
The role is based in the picturesque Woodlands Gardens, Gordonton, with an office in the historic homestead. There is an on-site cafe, free parking, and it's only a short drive from Hamilton.

About this role:We have an opportunity for an outstanding person to join our team at Woodlands. Woodlands covers award winning gardens with a large, modern function centre. This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of the estate including marketing, sales, team leadership, event coordination, and strategic planning.
What I do?- You will work closely with the on-site team, including events staff and gardeners, to ensure a high level of service for gardens visitors and events including corporates, weddings, and community days.
- You will increase the visibility of Woodlands as an event venue through marketing, sales, and networking.
- You will work closely with the Waikato District Council strategies for future plans and developments on site to ensure long-term sustainability of the operations.
- You are an experienced salesperson, with a demonstrable background in B2B and/or B2C sales and a track record of YOY achievements of targets.
- You understand direct marketing, ideally with experience using social media for an organization.
- You have a deep respect for historic places and stories and understand how the past has shaped the present.
- You think strategically and have a people-focus.
- Experience in staff management is a plus.
