A well-established Chinese restaurant located on Dominion Road, Auckland — the original and flagship store of Eden Noodles — is seeking two experienced full-time Chinese Chefs (minimum 30 hours per week) to join our dynamic team. As our flagship location, this restaurant operates at a high volume and plays a key role in maintaining food quality, developing new dishes, and supporting operational standards across the brand.

Therefore, this role offers greater responsibility and opportunities to contribute to menu development and kitchen management.

We are looking for positive, ambitious individuals who are confident in their culinary skills, capable of working independently, and able to remain focused in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As our restaurant operates seven days a week, offering both lunch and dinner services, you will be required to work across a rotating schedule, including evenings, weekends, and split shifts.

Key Details:
  • Pay rate: $27.00 – $35.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
  • Minimum two years of proven experience in a commercial kitchen, specializing in authentic Chinese cuisine.
  • Availability for flexible work hours, including evenings, weekends, and split shifts.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, kitchen operations, and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to maintain high standards in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
  • Leadership capability with the ability to assist in kitchen supervision and team coordination.
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to contribute new menu ideas and improve kitchen operations.
Main Duties:
  • Prepare, season, and cook a variety of authentic Chinese dishes while maintaining consistent quality and presentation standards.
  • Assist in planning and designing new menu items, seasonal dishes, and specialty offerings aligned with customer preferences and brand standards.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of recipes, cooking techniques, and food presentation.
  • Supervise daily kitchen operations and coordinate workflow to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
  • Monitor stock levels, order ingredients, and ensure quality and freshness of supplies.
  • Ensure proper food storage, preservation, and stock rotation practices.
  • Enforce hygiene, food safety, and workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, including instruction on recipes, preparation methods, and equipment use.
  • Assist with roster planning and task allocation within the kitchen team when required.
  • Prepare meals for customers with special dietary requirements where necessary.

We are excited to welcome someone who can bring fresh perspectives while upholding our flagship store’s high standards and reputation. If you believe you are the right fit for our team, we encourage you to apply now.
