At Engender, we’re transforming the dairy industry with world-first, laser-based sperm-sorting technology that helps farmers improve animal welfare, strengthen farm economics, and create a more sustainable future. Born out of the University of Auckland and now part of global genetics leader CRV, we’re a world-class, multidisciplinary team pushing the limits of microfluidics, photonics, biology, and engineering from our state-of-the-art R&D lab on Auckland’s vibrant waterfront.

If you thrive on detail, care deeply about quality, and want to contribute to breakthrough science that makes a global impact, this could be your next challenge.

The Role

As a Quality Administrator/Engineer, you’ll play a key part in maintaining, refining, and improving Engender’s Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. You’ll embed quality into every stage of the product lifecycle, from audits and testing to documentation, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the QMS in accordance with regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 13485, GMP)
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and testing to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement
  • Lead and support internal and external audits, including preparation, execution, and corrective actions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across product development, engineering, and manufacturing to integrate quality throughout the lifecycle
  • Oversee CAPA and risk management processes, ensuring timely resolution and preventive measures
  • Analyse quality metrics, identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and implement improvements
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to colleagues to build quality awareness and capability
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive quality documentation and reporting
  • Act as a point of contact for regulatory bodies and maintain strong engagement with compliance requirements
About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., biology, biotechnology, engineering) or business discipline (e.g., business administration)
  • Substantial experience in quality management within biotech, agriculture, medical devices, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industries
  • Strong experience with QMS and regulatory frameworks such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or GMP
  • Familiarity with risk management tools (e.g., FMEA, hazard analysis) and validation of equipment, processes, or software
  • Proven track record implementing quality systems and driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage diverse teams
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile, startup-style environment, balancing structured quality practices with adaptability
Why Join Us?
  • Be part of a pioneering company shaping the future of sustainable dairy farming
  • Contribute to ground-breaking science with global impact
  • Collaborate with a diverse, world-class team of scientists and engineers
  • Work from a modern, waterfront R&D hub in central Auckland
