The Role
We’re looking for a Data Architect/Engineer to design, build, and maintain Engender’s data infrastructure. In this role, you’ll create scalable and secure data architectures that power research, operations, and decision-making across the organisation.Working closely with scientists, engineers, and business teams, you’ll ensure Engender’s data is accurate, accessible, and ready to drive insight.
What You’ll Do- Design and implement scalable data models, architectures, and pipelines.
- Build and maintain data warehouses, lakes, and integration tools.
- Develop and optimise ETL/ELT processes for ingestion, transformation, and loading.
- Collaborate with analysts, scientists, and business teams to support data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure data security, compliance, and governance standards are met.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise data pipelines and infrastructure.
- Stay ahead of emerging trends and tools in data management and analytics.
- Document standards, architecture, and processes for governance and knowledge sharing.
About You
You’re a technical problem-solver who thrives on building robust, scalable data systems. You enjoy working across disciplines and can translate complex technical ideas into clear solutions that deliver real-world impact.- Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise data architectures.
- Strong technical skills with SQL, Python, Spark, Hadoop, or similar tools.
- Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of governance, data security, and compliance requirements.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and optimisation skills.
- Excellent communication skills, able to bridge technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders on data projects.
