About the Role:

For over 25 years, our client has been sourcing and supplying top quality fasteners and hardware to the Construction, Engineering, Roofing and Rural sectors, establishing themselves as a leading supplier to the NZ market.

Due to continued growth and expansion, an excellent opportunity is now available for an experienced, self-motivated Supply Chain Manager, who will be responsible for managing and analysing inventory and ensuring stock levels, product costs and freight costs are minimised to maximise efficiency and profitability in the business.

Reporting to the Directors, this will be a pivotal role in the business requiring someone who has a minimum of 5 plus years' experience in supply chain, the ability to manage inventory of over 5000 SKU's, along with relevant Tertiary qualifications and confidence in using ERP/MRP systems.

Duties:

  • Research and locate vendors of products and services, determining product/service availability and terms of sale
  • Assist in sourcing new products or suppliers as required
  • Resolve delivery, pricing and or quality issues with vendors
  • Ensure all incoming Purchase Orders match supplier invoices
  • Build reports and create excel tools to manage stock and produce forecasts
  • Prepare orders for overseas suppliers based on sales reports, team feedback and market knowledge
  • Use critical thinking and data analysis to develop insights and drive process improvements for inventory management
  • Coordinate deliveries of inward imports and containers
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, customers and internal teams

Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain Management, preferable
  • 5 + years’ experience in a hands-on inventory and supply chain role, ideally within the fastener, hardware industry or similar
  • Skilled in workflow management, project processes, principles and practices
  • Experience in forecasting processes and inventory management
  • Knowledge of logistics, freight, shipping imports and relevant documentation
  • Advanced technological skills, including MS Office, in particular Excel
  • Demonstrated experience working with ERP systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to executives
  • Strong time management, high level of accuracy, planning and organisational ability
  • MUST be living in NZ and have permanent working rights. This position is NOT suitable for candidates requiring sponsorship.
