We have an exciting opportunity becoming available at Port Ahuriri Children’s Centre in Napier for the following positions:

Centre Cook (27.5 Hours a week)

Port Ahuriri Children’s Centre is a not-for-profit community-based centre run by a collective of parent trustees, licensed for 50 children based in the heart of Ahuriri, Napier. We are looking for a passionate cook to join our fantastic team.

Are you that special someone we are looking for? With a heart of gold, a can-do attitude and someone who thrives on building relationships, we are looking for someone who can help us deliver a high standard of food to nourish children and support their learning and development.

You will need to be able to:

Prepare and cook healthy nutritious meals
Cater for a range of dietary requirements
Adhere to the budget set
Work within the time frames for the rooms and various meals
Liase with staff, parents and whanau about children’s needs and requirements
Have flexibility to allow for special days, trips and changes to the day to day set up
Identify hazards, maintain hygiene standards and ensure all required documentation to keep up to date.
Build relationships with the staff, children and whanau
Be willing to attend professional development if necessary
