We have an exciting opportunity becoming available at Port Ahuriri Children’s Centre in Napier for the following positions:
- Centre Cook (27.5 Hours a week)
Port Ahuriri Children’s Centre is a not-for-profit community-based centre run by a collective of parent trustees, licensed for 50 children based in the heart of Ahuriri, Napier. We are looking for a passionate cook to join our fantastic team.
Are you that special someone we are looking for? With a heart of gold, a can-do attitude and someone who thrives on building relationships, we are looking for someone who can help us deliver a high standard of food to nourish children and support their learning and development.
You will need to be able to:- Prepare and cook healthy nutritious meals
- Cater for a range of dietary requirements
- Adhere to the budget set
- Work within the time frames for the rooms and various meals
- Liase with staff, parents and whanau about children’s needs and requirements
- Have flexibility to allow for special days, trips and changes to the day to day set up
- Identify hazards, maintain hygiene standards and ensure all required documentation to keep up to date.
- Build relationships with the staff, children and whanau
- Be willing to attend professional development if necessary
