About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join Ryman Healthcare as a Senior Lead Chef - Roaming. This role is supporting our villages in the South Island and in other Regions within New Zealand. Start and finish times will vary with shifts being 0800 to 1700 or 1100 to 1900.Note that this may vary with events.
This full-time position requires 40 hours of work per week. You will have one weekend day off, with days off varying; for example, you could have Friday and Saturday or Sunday and Monday off.
In this role you will:
- Cover the Senior Lead Chef or Chef positions in our various villages, catering to different dietary needs
- When covering different regions, you will stay in that area for up to four to five nights - Meal allowances and accommodation will be provided
- As the Roaming Senior Lead Chef, support all food services in the village, including resident meals, dining room experiences, and meals in the village cafes and bar.
- Prepare delicious meals from our seasonal menus, rich in variety, flavour and nutrition
- Always operate with health and safety as a key consideration
About You
To thrive in our supportive and rewarding environment you will have:
- Extensive experience as a Head Chef, catering for large groups or functions
- Previous experience in bulk and short-order catering would be an advantage
- Hold a qualification in Cookery or equivalent
- A full driving license and reliable transport are required (KMs reimbursed)
- Outstanding communication skills with a reliable, approachable and professional manner
