A busy Indian restaurant urgently requires an experienced Cook. Great opportunity to work with a friendly team in a busy restaurant in Northland, specialising in authentic North Indian food.
Below are some key details of the job on offer:
Hourly rate- $25-$30.00 Guaranteed minimum 30 hours per week.
Any extra hours worked over 30 will be compensated at the base rate
Job type: Full-time, Permanent Location: Northland
We're open six days a week, and weekend and night shifts are required.
The key responsibilities include: -- Preparation of Indian curries and tandoori dishes. Performing all the essential food preparation, seasoning and cooking.
- Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements.
- Maintain the Tandoor in a working state. Regulating the temperatures of cooking equipment, such as grills and ovens.
- Train other kitchen staff whenever required.
- Stocktaking and reporting it to the Manager.
- Assist in resolving customer complaints
- Maintain a high level of food safety and hygiene as required by NZ Health standards
Candidate requirements:
At least one year of relevant experience (Kitchenhand or cook)
Able to work on weekends and public holidays
Able to work till late evenings. This is a busy restaurant, so applicants must be good team players.
Ability to work in a busy environment
