Baz Janssen Building Ltd is a well-established construction and engineering company based in the heart of rural Southland. Our skilled team specializes in high-quality construction projects including new homes, renovations, dairy sheds, wintering barns, concrete work, and general engineering.

We are currently seeking an Experienced Carpenter to join our motivated team. This is a full-time role 40 Hrs guaranteed with pay rate of $34-$38 per hour.

• Carry out a wide range of carpentry duties as directed by the foreman or supervisor, including, concrete formwork, carpentry, roofing.
• Assist with training apprentices and supporting junior staff.
• Read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Measure, cut, shape, and assemble building materials with accuracy.
• Operate a variety of carpentry tools, machinery, and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist with site preparation, including setting out, levelling, and layout of work.
• Participate actively in Health & Safety requirements.
• Conduct hazard reviews on sites when requested.
• Maintain and uphold the company’s strong reputation for quality work, safety, and professional service.

• Minimum three years of relevant carpentry experience.
• Proven ability to complete carpentry work to a high standard.
• Reliable, tidy, and able to work collaboratively in a team.
• Maintain an organised and clean work area.
• Current driver licence required.
