We operate across the construction industry: infrastructure, commercial building, and residential supplying qualified labour and tradesmen for casual, temporary, and long-term staff.

We have multiple vacancies for CARPENTERS.

What we offer
  • Pay Rate - $25NZD - $40NZD based on skills, experiences, and competency levels.
  • Minimum hours of work per week – 30 hours

We have opportunities to work on top commercial infrastructure/commercial/residential projects, to develop your skills and gain experience in a wide variety of projects. We offer competitive rates of pay and provide candidates with vehicles and accommodation on some occasions.

About you
  • Trade qualified or 3+ years minimum of experience in the construction industry
  • Read plans is preferred but training is provided
  • Must have pride in produce high–quality work
  • Quick learned task-oriented
  • A great work ethic with the ability to work unsupervised
  • Reliability and a team player
  • Good communication skills
  • Must pass drug, alcohol, medical and MOJ checks
  • Must have own carpentry tools
NPL offers work on long-term projects across all of New Zealand. Permanent positions are available to those who are willing and able to relocate to different regions in New Zealand. NPL will negotiate any with an individual worker and will assist with relocation costs on a case-by-case basis.

Individuals who are not able to relocate are encouraged to apply and may be offered fixed-term contracts based on the availability of projects in their location.

Job Tasks and duties
  • Read plans
  • Determine dimensions
  • Prepare project layout – set out
  • Undertake material selection
  • Set up tools in preparation for work
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment
  • Cutting materials and assembly using nails or other fasteners
  • Concrete formwork
  • Timber framing
  • If required – finishing carpentry skills
  • Use of power tools such as a skill saw
  • When required – installation of exterior cladding
  • Placing precast
  • Cutting wood joints
  • Ordering materials
  • Sites clean up

Some sites may require you to assist in other trade works associated with the projects such as steel fixing, block laying, carpet laying, plastering, painting, labouring, plumbing, welding, concrete mixing work, tidying the site.

Normal days of work will be Monday to Saturday between 7am and 6pm.

To be eligible for this position you must currently reside in NZ and have a legal right to work in this country.
