Are you proactive, detail-oriented, and ready for a dynamic role that goes beyond traditional desk duties? At Metrotel New Plymouth, we're seeking a dedicated Receptionist who thrives in a hands-on environment. This position demands high energy, initiative, and a commitment to excellence.

You'll be actively involved throughout the property, ensuring everything runs smoothly while delivering top-notch service.

In this multifaceted role, you'll serve as the primary point of contact for our guests and prospective customers. Responsibilities include efficiently checking in guests, managing daily operations, and handling administrative tasks such as processing phone bookings, responding to emails, issuing invoices, and addressing inquiries.
Guest issues will inevitably arise, and as the first responder, you'll resolve them promptly and effectively—balancing guest satisfaction with the business's commercial and reputational interests. You'll also support similar queries from our other branches across locations.

Attention to detail and unwavering accuracy are non-negotiable; even minor mistakes can have significant impacts, so precision in every task is essential.

Given our hotel's manageable scale (31 rooms), core office and admin duties take up only a fraction of your time. This is not a sedentary job—expect to be on your feet and proactive. During morning shifts, you'll assist with housekeeping while keeping an eye on the reception phone and doorbell.

This includes cleaning rooms, making beds, replenishing amenities, preparing for new arrivals, and servicing stayover guests. You'll help coordinate the housekeeping team's tasks and workflows, and contribute to general maintenance and upkeep of the building and grounds.

Ongoing laundry duties involve washing, drying, and folding towels and linens. We value team members who take initiative in supporting the manager with property-wide maintenance and cleaning, which may include gardening, painting, pressure washing, and more.

You'll work safely with chemicals and machinery, adhering strictly to manuals, guidelines, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to prevent accidents.
