Bar Manager
Salary: $27.00 – $30.00 per hour

Barrel Bar Limited T/A Leopard Hotel is a well-established hospitality venue located in Waipukurau, Central Hawke’s Bay. We offer accommodation, a bar, and a restaurant that serves both locals and travellers. Our goal is to deliver an exceptional hospitality experience through excellent service and well-managed operations.
We are seeking experienced and motivated Bar Managers (2 positions) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Bar and ensuring our guests receive a high standard of service.
Key Responsibilities- Lead ordering, stock control, and inventory management
- Develops and updates drink and food menus in line with the bar’s theme and customer preferences.
- Develop fair and effective rosters and rotations, ensuring adequate coverage for operational needs.
- Ensures the bar is well-stocked, clean, and complies with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor industry trends to enhance customer service and sales.
- Participate in financial planning and budget reviews to optimize profitability.
- Maintains documentation of drink recipes and standard operating procedures.
- Oversees planning and execution of special events and promotions.
- Delegates tasks to staff and ensures effective coordination among team members.
- Selects and purchases liquor and other supplies while maintaining vendor relationships.
- Trains, coaches and supervises all bar staff.
- Conduct regular staff performance evaluations
- Utilizes point-of-sale tracking technology and bar management platforms to streamline operations.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in the same industry/field OR,
- A NZQF level 5 qualification in management related OR a Bachelor degree in any discipline.
- LCQ and Duty Manager’s Certificate, or the ability to obtain these within a reasonable timeframe.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required.
- A pre-employment drug test may be required.
- A Ministry of Justice check may be conducted for this role.
