Burger Fiasko is a well-established and reputable restaurant serving handcrafted burgers, shakes, shares and anti craft beers. We offer our customers a dine-in experience as well as takeaway.
We are looking for an experienced, full-time Duty Manager (or able to obtain one) to join our young and vibrant team. This is a hands-on role, where you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently, while also delivering an exceptional dining experience that supports our brand.
Burger Fiasko is currently open 5 days a week, Tuesday to Saturday, but we plan to extend our opening hours to 7 days a week. You will have 5 days on, 2 days off, or 4 days on, 3 days off. This is negotiable.
It is a full-time position, with a minimum of 30 hours per week.
About the job:
- Running shifts and managing staff on duty.
- Overseeing daily restaurant operations, ensuring seamless service and exceptional standards.
- Maintaining safety, cleanliness and compliance at all times
- Greet guests, take orders, provide food service and handle payments.
- Guide and mentor a team of passionate staff, fostering a culture of fun, energy and continuous improvement.
- Lead by example, setting the standard for the team to follow.
- Help in the kitchen when needed.
- Providing excellent customer service and dealing with customer complaints or issues.
About you
You are a detail-oriented leader. As a duty manager, you naturally want to care for both your guests and your team, leading by example, inspiring others and helping in the kitchen when needed. Do you have?:
- At least 1-2 years of relevant work experience in the hospitality/customer service industry, or a relevant qualification (minimum NZ Level 2 or 3 qualification or higher).
- Have a current Manager’s certificate or be able to obtain one if hired.
- Able to work shifts on weekdays, weekends and public holidays.
- Proven leadership and problem-solving skills.
- A motivating and enthusiastic attitude.
- Clear and friendly communication with your team.
- A desire to mentor and train staff
- A collaborative spirit to work seamlessly with the entire team.
- A genuine love for food and the industry.
- A full-time permanent role - minimum of 30 hours per week
- An hourly rate based on skill and experience between $27 to $33 per hour
