Gypsum/Plasterboard fixer

Day-to-day responsibilities of the role: determining plasterboard layout, and installing insulation and vapour barriers
measuring, marking and cutting plasterboard, lifting and positioning panels, and securing them to walls, ceilings and battens
clean and prepare surfaces for plastering
covering joins and nail holes with wet plaster and sealing compounds, and smoothing them using wet brushes and sand papermixing and applying coats of plaster, cement and render to structures using trowels, and leveling and smoothing coats to uniform thickness
Responsibilities: Study building plans and architectural drawings
Select building materialsPutting up plasterboard linings in residential and commercial buildings
Measure and cut materials to the right size and shape-remove or repair old items.
- Understand and uphold the health and safety of the workplace
Number of positions for this job: Three positions
Job Location: Auckland, New Plymouth, Tauranga.Employment type: Permanent
Days required: Depending on the job size and project, early start, Monday to Friday and some weekend work.
Some Travel around New Zealand will be required - outside of Auckland.Hours per week guaranteed a minimum of 30 hours work a week.

Candidate experience & qualifications: Minimum three years experience required in gypsum/plasterboard fixing.
Must hold a drivers license – any class
