Position: Office Manager

Job description: An experienced office administrator is sought, for a small law firm that specialises in providing both employers and employees with employment law advice and representation. The ideal person will have experience in office management including invoicing, debtor control, bank statement reconciliation, GST returns, payroll and be a problem solver who needs little supervision.

Experience in a law firm is preferred but not essential.

Hours of Work: This is a part-time position of 8 hours per week preferably with 4 hours on a Tuesday and 4 hours on a Thursday. No problem to adjust hours around family commitments such as preschool / school and so forth. Hours are expected to increase to 12 to 16 hours over the next 12 months.

Skills needed:

  1. Great computer skills including all Microsoft Office 365 products, and preferably Excel. If you do not have this experience do not apply.

Skills desired:

  1. Office experience including financial control, invoicing, aged receivables, GST returns, payroll etc
  2. Experience with Leap (or similar law firm software)
  3. A good general knowledge of employment law, HR, H & S, IEA’s
  4. A detailed knowledge of payroll including the Holidays Act and all entitlements.
  5. Experience in preparing documents for employment related litigation.
  6. Marketing experience will be a definite advantage, including promoting and maintaining a business page on Facebook, SEO, website maintenance and promotion, knowledge & experience with Google Business.
