Hours of work are negotiable but hours of work are 7am until approximately 12-1pm depending on the business of the day.
Roastery Manager – Role Overview
The Roastery Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the coffee roastery, serving as the second-in-charge (2IC) to the Managing Director. This role plays a key part in ensuring all roastery processes run smoothly, overseeing administrative tasks, managing staff, supporting customer relationships, and contributing to the overall efficiency and productivity of the business.
About You
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a hospitality-based environment, outstanding customer service skills, and strong working knowledge of systems such as Xero, Unleashed, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
Key Responsibilities:
This is a hands-on role that includes:
- Overseeing all aspects of daily roastery operations
- Liaising with bookkeepers and managing till reconciliations
- Staff management, including recruitment, employment contracts, and rosters
- Managing payroll and generating invoices
- Coordinating stock control and supply ordering
- Ensuring food safety and compliance standards are met
- Assisting with dispatch and providing support in the espresso bar when needed
Key Skills & Attributes:
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Solid understanding of business operations, finance, and payroll systems (e.g., Xero, TimeHub)
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Practical knowledge of health, safety, and food compliance standards
- Customer-focused, with the ability to work effectively in both retail and production settings
- Proactive and solutions-oriented, with a continuous improvement mindset
