Experienced Chef

Kolachi Cafe & Eatery??? 147 Emerson Street, Napier South

Kolachi Cafe & Eatery is looking for an experienced Chef to join our team. We’re a busy café in the centre of town, so we need someone confident working in a fast-paced environment and capable of taking on a senior role in the kitchen.

This is a full-time position (minimum 35–40 hours per week). You’ll be working alongside another experienced chef, helping to run the kitchen day to day and ensuring smooth service during busy periods. We’re looking for someone with experience at a senior level, without the formal head chef title.

• Preparing and cooking café-style meals to a high standard
• Supporting menu planning and daily food prep
• Helping manage kitchen operations during busy service
• Supervising and supporting junior kitchen staff
• Maintaining food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards
• Assisting with stock control and ordering
• Adapting dishes for dietary requirements when needed

• An experienced chef comfortable in a busy café environment
• Someone capable of taking responsibility and leading a kitchen when needed
• Reliable, organised, and calm under pressure
• Baking experience is a bonus, but not essential
• Good understanding of food safety and kitchen operations
