Based in the Heart of Napier Hawkes Bay Ajuna Cafe offers high quality delicious meals that change seasonally. We are looking for a creative and passionate Chef to join our busy team.
You will assist in the daily operations of the kitchen, working closely with both Front of House and other kitchen staff.

Your Duties and Responsibilities:
Create and execute a diverse menu of high-quality dishes for breakfast, brunch, and lunchMaintain exceptional standards of food quality, taste, and presentation
Ensure consistency in food preparation and execution
Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new recipes and seasonal specials
Monitor inventory levels and place orders for ingredients as needed
Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations
Train and mentor kitchen staff to maintain a high level of culinary excellence
Requirements:
3 years proven experience as a Chef, preferably in a restaurant/high end cafeor
NZQF Diploma in Cookery/ Kitchen Management
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary trends
Creative flair and passion for experimenting with flavours and ingredients
Ability to adjust quickly to seasonal changes and create dishes that showcase produce
Excellent organisational and time-management skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure calmly
Team player with strong leadership and communication skills
Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
The roles will pay 28 - 32 ph depending on skills and experience for a minimum of 30 hours per week between 5am and 5.30pm, including weekends and public holidays.
