Care Support Worker

We currently have an opportunity for a full-time support worker offering a variety of shifts and must be able to work weekends. Shifts are as follows:- Monday - day off.
- Tuesday - day off.
- Wednesday - 3pm to 11pm at our Lincoln home.
- Thursday - 3pm to 11pm at our Rolleston home.
- Friday - 3pm to 11pm at our Rolleston home.
- Saturday - 3pm to 11pm at our Lincoln home.
- Sunday - 3pm to 11pm at our Lincoln home.
We are looking for candidates who have experience working in the Disability Sector who are able to work up to 40 hours per week, across our residence located in Lincoln and Rolleston.
Ideally, you will have a NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 2 or 3 or equivalent, along with:- A positive attitude to supporting people with intellectual disability.
- Excellent communication within English and interpersonal skills, with a solution-focused approach to issues.
- Great communication skills (written and verbal).
- Excellent computer skills.
- A full New Zealand driver's licence.
- Great with people of all ages, ethnicities, and genders.
- Supportive, kind, caring and empathetic.
- A strong communicator both verbally and written.
- Able to build and maintain relationships in a professional setting

You will be primarily working with individuals in their home setting, encouraging them to meet other people and to have regular contact with their Family/Whanau, and Friends.- Assist residents with daily living activities, including meal preparation, household tasks and community participation.
- You will also be providing them with the opportunity to learn, experience and practice life skills, and develop work skills.
- Administering medication and maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Providing hands-on personal care and support in accordance with individual care plans, incorporating cultural sensitivity and respect.

Salary: $23.50 - $29.10 depending on qualifications/experience
Please note the essentials for the role:- Full, clean class 1 driver’s license with no restrictions is mandatory, and you must be a confident and competent driver.
- You must be residing in Christchurch, and legally entitled to work in New Zealand on a permanent basis.
