Chef/ Cook at Eightgrains

We are searching for a Chef /Cook for our small and busy combined kitchen of Eightgrains Dumpling & Bao and Sushi Soldier Japanese Kitchen, at Little High, 255 St Asaph street, City centre. (more similar and senior positions also available in our other city locations)

Any successful candidate will:

  • Be able to handle any required food prep and service in a fast paced restaurant and small space, keep things in order especially in a small and busy kitchen with sufficient front of house team communications.
  • Be honest, reliable, communicate well, and to coordinate prep and service with our awesome kitchen and FOH crew you will definitely need the ability to adapt and think on your feet.
  • Have 2years+ reasonable Commercial Kitchen Experience. No matter how many years you've worked in a kitchen we will happily tailor your role and our expectations of you to fit in our team. Opportunities for the development of junior chefs are often available but more experienced chefs preferred who has background and experience in Asian cuisine.
  • Understand the importance of consistent business standard and can well follow structured checklists, food control plan and have positive attitude in team work.
  • Understand culture variety in the kitchen and Experience needed in fish processing, Wok, Fryer, Grill, Pan, and Prep with food safety.
  • Naturally you would be willing and be able to work weekends, late nights, and public holidays, and engage in an extremely fast paced and challenging environment. Our growing hospitality group will in return provide career development opportunities and generous industry comparable remuneration, full time averaging 40hr a week (30-50hr /week) and rate (starting between $25-$30/hr, and if there's overtime will be paid the same hourly rate)
