The opportunity:
  • The Prime Minister's Office is seeking a motivated and engaging administrator to join his office as a Private Secretary.
Working in the heart of the government, you will join a tight knit and trusted team who support the Prime Minister as part of the 54th Parliament.As a Private Secretary
  • Administration, your new role will see you provide a range of administrative support to the Prime Minister's Office.

In your new role you will be the 'face of the office' greeting visitors as they arrive, you'll help respond to a range of queries via email and over the phone, and in general will provide critical support in keeping things running smoothly.

Your position will involve process-driven administrative tasks such as the management of reception, logging invitations and meeting requests and any other administrative tasks that are required.
This is a fixed term events-based position from appointment until 1 May 2026.

The position is part time, asking for 30 hours a week.

The likely appointment range is $71,767
  • $79,741 (pro rated), with starting salaries reflecting relevant skills and experience, as well as internal parity.

Demonstrated experience providing administration, secretarial, and/or reception services Proficiency in Microsoft programmes, you will bring your speedy typing skills and an eye for detailA passion for politics and a desire to build your career in the heart of governmentA good sense of humour with the ability to have a laugh and work both closely with your team and autonomously as neededAn ability to work and problem solve at pace, with maturity and a high level of resilienceAn understanding of the machinery of government would be advantageousInterested?
