Location: Neighbourhood Bar, 326 Church Street, Palmerston North
Job Type: Full-time Positions Available
Guaranteed Hours: Minimum of 40 hours per week (Full-Time)
Pay Rate: $29.00 – $32.00 per hour (depending on experience and role)
Estimated Earnings: $60,320 – $70,000 annually (based on hours worked and level of experience)

As a chef at Neighbourhood Bar, you will be responsible for:
Preparing and presenting high-quality meals in line with our menu and brand standardsMaintaining high standards of hygiene, food safety, and kitchen cleanliness
Working efficiently during high-volume service periods
Supporting and mentoring junior kitchen staff where required
Ensuring consistent portion sizes, quality, and presentation
Participating in stock control, food rotation, and waste management
Communicating effectively with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Minimum 1 year of experience working in a commercial kitchenFormal culinary training or a relevant qualification (preferred but not essential)
Strong knife skills and understanding of food safety practices
Ability to thrive under pressure in a busy kitchen environment
A proactive, team-oriented attitude and strong communication skills
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
Hours of Work:
Flexible roster including weekdays, evenings, and weekendsFull-time positions: minimum 40 hours/week
