  • Kōrero mō te TūrangaWe are looking for an Adviser to join New Zealand Food Safety in the Wine Assurance Team.You will work collaboratively with the team to support businesses who export wine, including providing advice about export and importing market requirements, and using the new MPI Trade Certification system.You will contribute towards the work programme of the team, including providing advice to stakeholders, oversight of monitoring programmes, and working across the Assurance Directorate to ensure consistency of systems.This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to develop their operational understanding of export assurance and the MPI Trade Certification system.
About You
  • Mōu You will be a great collaborator with excellent customer service skills and will engage with industry stakeholders and within the team to facilitate trade and to support and enhance the integrity of MPI's international reputation as a competent body.You will bring your experience, along with your ability to get stuff done and your enjoyment of working in a busy environment where no two days are the same.Ideally you will have a relevant tertiary qualification, e.g., in public policy/food technology/sciences, or a related discipline.
You will have confidence to gather, organise and communicate technical information in simple and understandable terms.In this role you will use your stakeholder and engagement skills, and analytical and problem-solving skills to make sound judgements.
About the Team
  • Mō tō mātou RōpūThe Wine Assurance Team is part of the Plant, Wine & Organic Assurance Team (PWO) which is responsible for the Plant export assurance programme, Wine assurance programme and Official organic assurance programme.
PWO plays a key role in assuring the integrity, safety and reputation of New Zealand's exported food and primary products.The Wine Assurance team works closely with Food Risk Management, Food Compliance Services, Bilateral Relations & Trade and Trade Policy.
