**About the Role**
The Office of Hon Nicole McKee, Minister for Courts and Associate Minister of Justice, is seeking a dynamic and experienced communications professional to join her team.
This is a fast-paced and rewarding opportunity to work at the heart of government, helping shape and communicate policy decisions that impact all New Zealanders.
**Key Responsibilities**- Manage media enquiries, press releases, interviews, and the Minister's communications strategy.
- Work closely with the Minister and her team to ensure messaging is clear, timely, and aligned with government priorities.
- Translate complex policy issues into accessible communications for diverse audiences.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, ministerial offices, and stakeholders.
**What We're Looking For**
We're seeking someone with:
- A background in communications, public relations, or journalism.
- Strong understanding of New Zealand's political and media landscape.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience or knowledge in firearms policy and reform and/or anti-money laundering and countering financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) is highly desirable.
