• $138,704 per annum Applications Close: 11:55pm, two weeks from posting dateAbout the RoleThe Office of Hon Nicole McKee, Minister for Courts and Associate Minister of Justice, is seeking a dynamic and experienced communications professional to join her team.This is a fast-paced and rewarding opportunity to work at the heart of government, helping shape and communicate policy decisions that impact all New Zealanders.Key ResponsibilitiesManage media enquiries, press releases, interviews, and the Minister's communications strategy.Work closely with the Minister and her team to ensure messaging is clear, timely, and aligned with government priorities.Translate complex policy issues into accessible communications for diverse audiences.Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, ministerial offices, and stakeholders.What We're Looking ForWe're seeking someone with:A background in communications, public relations, or journalism.Strong understanding of New Zealand's political and media landscape.Proven ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to changing priorities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience or knowledge in firearms policy and reform and/or anti-money laundering and countering financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) is highly desirable.Why Join Us?Working at Parliament is a unique opportunity to be at the heart of policy decision-making affecting all New Zealanders where communicating the Government's direction is both exciting and rewarding.Work in a collaborative and high-impact environment where no two days are the same.Additional InformationThis is an events-based position aligned with the three-year parliamentary term.A security clearance is required for this role.
