About the Role The Critical Care Expansion Programme has committed funding to support and increase Allied Professions workforce capacity and capability within critical care settings by funding Educators for Allied Professions within the Central Region.

This role will provide coordination of the education programme across the Central Region, and may be based at any of the districts within the Central Region.
They will play a pivotal role in ensuring strategic alignment of educator workplans, both as a Central Region Educator team, and with other profession-specific educators across the motu.
They will be a key point of connection between the educator team and Allied Health leadership across the Central Region, and will support visibility and reporting of the work programme to relevant parties.
In addition they will provide connection and leadership into the Central Region Critical Care leadership group.
The role will be held by one of the educators, in addition to their profession-specific educator role.
About the Team/Service Location The Allied Professions Critical Care Educator team works across the Central region, supporting clinicians working in critical care across all 6 of the Hospital sites.

Educators work primarily to support the upskilling and capability building of clinicians in their own profession, but also provide interdisciplinary teaching to other allied, nursing, and medical colleagues as required.

About you You will hold an Allied Professions Annual practicing certificate, with a minimum of 5 years
  • experience.

You will have proven skills in team coordination, strategic planning, measuring outcomes, and quality improvement, with outstanding communication skills and a solid understanding of clinical education.

You will work alongside the critical care educator team to develop and prioritise their workplans, and to define and record data metrics and reporting to support this programme of work.

You will have strong relationship building skills and will work collaboratively with both the allied professions educator team, as well as nursing educators, medical colleagues, and other critical care coordinators across the motu to align workplans and identify opportunities for collaboration.

You will be cognizant of the importance of equity for patients, whānau and for your team.
